Swim Lessons

I finally remembered my camera and got some shots of Hayley in swim lessons. She saw me taking pictures, so she was smiling in quite a few of them. This is her last week. She has had a lot a fun! She doesn't love to go under water, but she loves to go "swimming."

Waiting for her turn

Chillin

The girls were playing outside and Kyrsten hadn't come in for a while, so Jeff went to look for her and found her like this. Her and Hayley had dragged their chairs over to the wall (shade), and Kyrsten was just chillin playing with her water gun, making gun sounds. I am not sure really why this was funny and cute, but it was!

Hayley is 4!

For now I am posting a slide show of Hayley's birthday week. We didn't really plan an official "birthday party" so we did stuff before, on, and after her birthday. All the better for Hayley! For the most part the celebrations consisted of Chuck E. Cheese with family and swimming with friends. Here is a random assortment of some of the fun...

Just Living Life

We have just been living life. I guess there are a couple "summer" updates. Jeff got a second job for the summer. For fun, I mean the $8/hr is a lot of money, but more for the fun of it, he is coaching the Casa Grande swim team. He gets up early every morning to "coach" before work then has the swim meets Saturday mornings. He seems to be really enjoying it. Maybe I should pick a job too! I might need to just so we can fill up our cars.
Hayley started swim lessons at the city pool last week and is loving it. Except last week the water was actually cold since our summer really hasn't been too bad yet, so on Thursday she ended her lesson with blue lips, but she still wants to go back.

(Sorry for the bad picture, guess I should take the camera to swim lessons)
Kyrsten wasn't lucky enough to get signed up for swim this year so she hangs out with me and watches from the side. Maybe next year.
Kyrsten is enjoying the toddler life of getting into cupboards and pushing the chair over to the counter to climb up to get into drawers, etc.

Hayley most traumatic life experience probably happened this last Friday. The girls and I went over to my mom's house and with in the first 10 minutes of being there, Hayley stepped on my younger sister's hair straightener and burned her foot. She did get a couple blisters as you can see from the pictures, but the kid screamed for about 2 hours. I thought I was going to take her to the ER to get them to calm her down. She finally calmed down and passed out, most likely from the medicine I gave her to help, and woke up a lot better. Of course she wanted to be carried a lot and milked it for what is worth and more. Then she had a birthday party to go to and magically her foot was better and she was back on it with no problem. Kids are amazing what they will do to play. Then of course when we get back home it hurts again. Anyway, it seems to be healing quickly. I hope the girl never breaks a bone, because the screaming will be worse than anything else. Drama Queen for sure! This was after Jeff popped the blister so it looks a little better than the huge bubble.

Until next time...

Water! Water! Water!

The AZ summer heat has come which means it's water time! This last weekend the girls helped Jeff wash his car. They are getting pretty good at it. If you need a car wash come on over. The girls also were wishing for a swimming pool. Jeff came up with a fun idea and filled the ice chest full of water. It lasted through the weekend, but we felt they might like a little more room and bought a pool. Hayley spent two hours in it the first day. They had so much fun! Even though it was extremely hot at the beginning of the week, we now have a storm rolling through so the temperatures have drastically changed! Weather is crazy.

Book Signing

Last night I went to my first official book signing. The author, Stephenie Meyer! If you haven't every read her books, start now! They are amazing. I went with my friends Andrea and Amanda. If you want the whole story of the night check out their blogs. (Kyrsten is having sleeping issues so I don't have much time to get this posted without interruptions) It was great to meet Stephenie Meyer even though when you get up to her you have no idea what to say without sounding like a total dork, so instead I really didn't say anything and was still a dork. Afterwards we went out to dinner of course. Again, check the other blogs for the whole story:) Girls nights area always a blast! .

Finally

Finally my kiddos are healthy for the moment. Kyrsten had a yucky cold for the last 2 1/2 weeks and was not happy most of those days. Hayley of course started coughing as soon as Kyrsten was done. Fortunately Hayley's only lasted two days and by the end of this week they are both doing much better. Since we were bunkered in the house for most of those days we didn't do much. We did build forts a couple times just to spice up the home life. Today the girls helped Jeff wash the van and later had a blast playing in the backyard with him too. It is sooo nice when Jeff is home!! Yeah for weekends! Hopefully this week we will be able to get out and about, just enough to pick up some more of those contagious germs Kyrsten is so good at getting. It could have nothing to do with her trying to eat random things anywhere:)

They LOVE to make forts and of course watch TV in them.

Good helpers!

Last but not least, our family portrait. From left to right: Katie, Jeff, Hayley, and Kyrsten. Even though I somewhat resemble Mike Wazowski's girlfriend from Monsters Inc. , I was proud of Hayley for starting to draw people. It is so fun to see her learn new things!
