Easter Review

We had a fun filled Easter weekend. The first part of Saturday afternoon was spent in Casa Grande with friends. Many thanks to Andrea and Amanda for inviting us over to their Easter egg hunt get together. After that we headed over to my sister's for family time on my side. We decorated eggs and had a wonderful dinner. The girls always have fun over there and so do we! Sunday morning we did baskets and a little egg hunt and started in on the chocolate early. Jeff did his best to remind Hayley the real meaning of Easter before letting her get to all the treats. Right after church we headed up to Jason and Brandi's (Jeff's brother) for family fun with his side. The kids had an egg hunt at the park nearby and collected tons of eggs. We have a whole bagful of candy, which is now hidden in the cupboard for slow and regulated consumption. Luckily, Kyrsten has no clue it is there yet! Jason and Brandi also made us a delicious burrito dinner and of course the girls were happy to get to play with more cousins. It was a busy weekend, but I have to say it was nice not having to cook any major meals and not having to worry about cleaning my house for guests. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.

Decorating eggs- always an adventure with toddlers
Mmmmm, chocolate for breakfast. Do you like Kiki's "cheese" face?
Hayley looks hopped up on sugar already!

This is the best picture I could capture of my girls in their dresses.
They weren't having it!

Kyrsten LOVED seeing baby Elyse.
She kept calling her "Lola," which she calls all babies.
It was cute to see her so excited.

Casa Grande Promenade

Last Friday the weather was absolutely beautiful, as it has been lately, which of course means we had to get outside. We grabbed some lunch and ate outside with Jeff's mom at our new "mall." More stores are opening each month, but there are still many to come. They have a nice little area in front of the movie theater with tables and the spitting frogs for kids to play with. It was soooo nice to sit outside and enjoy the area. I am ecstatic that Casa Grande is growing, at least commercially right now! Anyway, here are some pictures of our enjoyable lunch time:

Hiking

Last Saturday we headed down to Picacho Peak and did a little bit of hiking. The weather was wonderful! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

What a handsome dad!

Video Game Addict in Training

Does this look like the face of a video game addict?

Maybe not yet, but she will be! Here are a few pictures of my THREE year old playing Super Mario Bothers on Jeff's Gameboy. She actually can finish a level (the one with apples- in her words). When Jeff asked her how she beat the level, she said, "I just ran and jumped and ran and jumped." I am just impressed with the coordination to play it. She gives up on coloring a whole picture or practicing writing letters, but she can keep playing her video game! Crazy kid!!

Who needs a couch?

Who needs a couch when you have Jeff around? Hayley was watching a movie while Jeff was reading. If I hadn't have taken a picture and distracted her, Hayley might have just taken a nap on his back.

Just two more

We were looking over the pictures again and had to add two more that made us laugh just seeing them! She is a character!

Kyrsten's Many Faces

We were playing in our backyard this afternoon and since I haven't been taking enough pictures, we dug out the camera and took a few shots, or a lot. As I was browsing through them, it made me laugh how many different facial expressions we got of Kiki within about 10 minutes. Here are just a few:

She is really good at giving a grumpy look!

February

Okay, I have gotten so bad at posting. I always think about it, but then use my time looking at all my friends blogs and wishing they would put a new post up. I know these are late, but I thought I would go ahead and post pictures from our weekends in February. We actually got out and about so it deserves to be mentioned!

In the beginning of February my family came over and spent some time with us. We all went downtown- downtown Casa Grande that is- and walked around the art festival- I guess you could call it that. There were some booths for kids to create various projects. The girls seemed to really enjoy it and it was a beautiful day out.

The next Saturday we woke up and heading out the door to Casa Grande's Annual O'odham Tash Indian Powwow. Sounds exciting right!? Well, the kiddos had fun, I think... It wasn't all that I had dreamed of, but hey- we got out of the house and got to spend time with our friends (thank goodness they came) so we were good!

Also in February we had a Mitchell Family BBQ at the park. Jeff barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers and we enjoyed the beautiful outdoors until the sun went down and we headed back to Grandma's for dessert. Even though I remembered the camera I didn't take enough pictures, I was too busy talking- what a surprise.

Relaxing at park

Well, that's it for this post! I obviously need to get back on my game with this blog. Posting like this takes way too long.
