Today we were going out to do some holiday shopping and I had a great/funny conversation with Hayley. It went pretty close to this:
Katie: Hayley, we should get Miss Kristen (her preschool teacher) a present. Do you know what she likes or her favorite color, or what we should get her?
Hayley: Umm..... Maybe a bowling ball.
Katie: (??????) Does she like bowling? That might be a hard gift to get.
Hayley: Maybe hairspray.
Katie: Ummm....I was thinking maybe an ornament and something else.
Hayley: Pajamas!
Katie: Well, I don't know Miss Kristen's size so that might be hard.
A minute goes by...
Hayley: How old is Miss Kristen?
Katie: I think 30.
Hayley: Then let's get her 30!
Katie: 30 what?
Hayley: size 30 pajamas!
Katie: Well, adult sizes are different.
Hayley: But, I am four and wear size 4.
Katie: I know, but when you get older, they have different sizes.
Katie: We will just look around when we get to the store and you can decide there.
I love kid conversations, they crack me up. You will be happy to know we did not get any of those gifts, but she did pick it out all by herself.
